Park Ji-hoon & Yoo Hae-jin's 'The King's Warden' Tops Weekend Box Office, Surpasses 1 Million in 5 Days

The film "The King's Warden" ranked No. 1 at the weekend box office.

According to the Korea Film Council’s integrated box-office database on the 9th, "The King's Warden" drew 761,840 moviegoers nationwide from the 6th to the 8th. Its cumulative admissions stand at 1,001,110.

Opening on the 4th, "The King's Warden" crossed the 1 million mark in just five days, signaling strong momentum heading into the Lunar New Year holiday. With "HUMINT" set to open on the 11th, a head-to-head showdown is expected next weekend.

Opening a week earlier, "The King's Warden" appears poised to draw as many viewers as possible before "HUMINT"s release and ride word of mouth into the holiday frame.

Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, "The King's Warden" follows a village chief who chooses exile to revive his community and a young former king who has been deposed and banished. The film stars Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do, and is directed by Jang Hang-jun.
