T.O.P, formerly of BIGBANG, has announced his first solo comeback in 13 years ― and actor-singer Nana has been tapped to star in his new music video.

According to a representative for T.O.P, filming for the music video featuring Nana wrapped last year. This is the first time the two are collaborating on a project.

On January 1, T.O.P made his return official via his personal social media, posting the message “A NEW ALBUM IS ON THE WAY” along with a video. He also added the phrase “ANOTHER DIMENSION,” which many took as a hint at the album’s concept or title.

T.O.P’s upcoming solo release marks his first since the digital single “DOOM DADA” in November 2013. With this year also marking the 20th anniversary of BIGBANG’s debut, anticipation is high for his musical comeback.

T.O.P debuted with BIGBANG in 2006 and found success in both music and acting. In 2016, he received a 10-month prison sentence suspended for two years on charges related to cannabis use, after which he halted activities. He later took part in BIGBANG’s 2022 digital single “Still Life” and officially left the group in 2023.

After drawing attention with remarks suggesting retirement, T.O.P returned to acting for the first time in eight years with the Netflix original series "Squid Game 2," released in December 2024. In an interview at the time, he said, “I believe it’s my responsibility to share the many songs I made during my darker days,” signaling his renewed focus on music.
