The film “The King's Warden” reclaimed the box-office crown just one day after losing it.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office tracking system on the 13th, “The King's Warden” drew 83,917 moviegoers nationwide on the 12th, rising to No. 1. Its cumulative admissions now stand at 1,365,904.

After opening on the 4th, “The King's Warden” held the top spot for a full week before ceding the lead on the 11th to “HUMINT,” which opened that day. But it bounced back within 24 hours.

“HUMINT” pulled in 81,189 viewers the same day, landing at No. 2 by a razor-thin margin. Its cumulative total is 212,817.

The gap between the two films is under 3,000 admissions―close enough for real-time ranking flips. Audience interest clearly hasn’t tilted decisively to one side yet.

The Lunar New Year holiday effectively starts today (the 13th) and runs for six days. Expect a see-saw battle between the two titles throughout the holiday box-office window. A twin-hit scenario is also very much on the table.
