Celebrity chef Im Sung-geun (58), who paused all TV activities after his past record―including four DUI cases―came to light, says he’s returning to his main line of work.

On the 13th, Im shared on his YouTube channel, “Hello, this is Im Sung-geun. I hope you’ve been well. I’m currently spending my days preparing to open a restaurant, which is my main job.” He added, “Once everything is ready, please feel free to stop by. I’ll do my best so you can enjoy a warm meal and dishes made with care.”

He also sent New Year’s greetings: “Happy New Year. I hope you spend a warm, peaceful holiday with your family. Please stay healthy.”

Im recently drew rapid attention as a variety star after appearing on the Netflix series "Culinary Class Wars 2." Soon after, reports revealed he had six prior convictions, including four DUIs, unlicensed driving, and assault causing injury, which sparked major controversy.

As a result, his scheduled appearances on "Knowing Bros," "Hangout with Yoo," and "Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant" were all canceled. Though he had finished filming for "Point of Omniscient Interfere" and "Salon Drip," those segments were scrapped. In media interviews, Im said he reflects on and regrets his past crimes and will no longer pursue public activities.

Recently, reports said Im is preparing to open a new restaurant near Simhak Mountain in Paju.
