It has been confirmed that actress Hwang Jung-eum’s single-family home in Itaewon has been placed under provisional attachment at the request of her former agency, Y-One Entertainment.
According to reports on the 13th, the Seoul Central District Court on Jan. 10 granted Y-One Entertainment’s application for a provisional attachment totaling KRW 282 million. The property subject to the attachment is Hwang’s standalone house in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, which she purchased for approximately KRW 4.6 billion in 2020.
On the same day, Y-One Entertainment said it respects the court’s decision regarding the ongoing legal proceedings but declined to comment on specific details, citing concerns that doing so could affect the judicial process. The agency added that it would continue to respond in good faith in accordance with legal procedures and would issue no further statements.
Hwang had previously come under scrutiny after her one-person agency, Hunminjeongeum Entertainment, was alleged to be operating without proper registration as an entertainment management company. In response, Y-One Entertainment said it had notified her of the termination of her exclusive contract on Nov. 27, 2025, that the notice had been accepted, and that the contract had already ended. The agency emphasized that it bears no responsibility for Hwang’s current or future activities or personal matters.
The provisional attachment has renewed attention on the underlying dispute between the two sides, as well as on the fact that Hwang owns 100% of Hunminjeongeum Entertainment’s shares. In 2025, she received a suspended prison sentence for embezzling approximately KRW 4.3 billion in company funds.
Hwang married in 2016, has two sons, and divorced in 2024.
