The two walked into a space filled with coffee gear and small tables, looking excited.
"There's a building next to an art center where he might try selling coffee as a barista," Seo explained, sharing her husband Jo's plan to start a cafe.
Hearing this, Kim Sook asked, "So does that make you the boss’s wife now?" Seo laughed and said, "Of course."
On why they decided to launch a cafe, Seo said, "His dream is to be a boss." Her parents added, "When Young-nam was staying at a facility, he earned a barista certification and applied for jobs but didn’t get hired. He never gave up on his dream, and now he’s preparing to start his own business."
They continued, "Young-nam loves meeting people, treating them well, and making coffee. We thought it would be great to lean into what he’s good at. A space opened up, so we decided to let him start something he enjoys."
Seo’s mother joked to Jo, "Please make money," and Jo confidently answered, "Yes," making everyone laugh.
As for the cafe’s name―"Jo Young-nam Coffee That Wooed Eun-hye"―Seo shared the backstory: "He gave me coffee. That’s how he wooed me," she said, noting the name captures their story.
