From singer Sung Si-kyung’s emotion-packed concert to the much-talked-about film “My Daughter Is a Zombie,” SBS’ holiday lineup swept No. 1 and No. 2 among Lunar New Year specials, winning over home audiences across the board.
Kicking off the holiday on Feb. 14, “Lunar New Year Special Concert: Sung Si-kyung” once again proved why the artist is called a live-performance powerhouse. The concert was planned as a true “one-night-only” event―no re-airing, no OTT release―available exclusively on its TV broadcast, which amplified viewer focus. According to Nielsen Korea, the “Sung Si-kyung Concert” ranked No. 1 in its time slot in the key 20-49 demo, scoring 2.3% in Part 1 and 2.7% in Part 2.
It also posted the highest 20-49 rating among all variety programs aired during the holiday period, with peak household ratings climbing to 5.2%, signaling a full-on “Sung Si-kyung” surge in living rooms nationwide. The refined production and high-caliber live vocals resonated with viewers of all ages celebrating the holiday, delivering results that outpaced competing shows.
The momentum carried straight into SBS’ Lunar New Year film “My Daughter Is a Zombie.” Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, the movie drew interest even before broadcast and kept viewers tuned in until the holiday’s final stretch with its unique premise and moving father-daughter story. “My Daughter Is a Zombie” recorded a 2.2% rating in the 20?49 demo and a 5.8% household rating, with a momentary peak soaring to 7.9% to take No. 1 in its time slot. (All figures per Nielsen Korea, Seoul metropolitan area.)

With that, SBS effectively dominated holiday primetime, taking both No. 1 and No. 2 across key 20-49 demo ratings and household ratings among major Lunar New Year specials. The results point to a winning programming strategy that paired an emotionally resonant concert with broadly appealing film content tailored to holiday viewing preferences.
