“I thought I showed my raw self in Season 1, but I might be even more raw in Season 2, which honestly makes me a bit worried,” she shared. “Still, viewers will have fun with it. We all need a dopamine boost these days, and Season 2 can deliver that.”
"Agents of Mystery 2" is an adventure mystery variety show that chases and solves bizarre cases that defy scientific explanation. It’s helmed by PD Jung Jong-yeon, known for building the mystery-game genre with titles like "The Devil’s Plan," "Great Escape," and "High School Mystery Club." After making a big splash in 2024, the series returns with deeper mysteries and a bigger, open-world scale that expands into the outdoors.
The “Mystery Investigation Team” becomes agents of the secret organization XIN, tackling supernatural incidents and missions. Returning from Season 1 are Lee Yong-jin, John Park, Hyeri, Kim Do-hoon, and KARINA, with dancer Gabee joining as the new recruit to amp up the energy.
To get ready for filming, KARINA said, “I tried a bunch of escape rooms to see if it would help. But the show’s scale was way bigger than any escape room I did,” adding, “I even watched horror movies I normally avoid. I really put in the effort.”
Season 2 unfolds across three episodes: Black Room, which spotlights the team’s problem-solving and teamwork; The Other, where the crew gets closer to the truth behind a mysterious creature; and The Secret of Baeksudam, which digs into strange events in a single village.
“Black Room gave me extreme stress―like, the most I’ve felt in a while,” KARINA recalled. “For The Secret of Baeksudam, I’m a former Scout, so getting back on a boat was scary but also felt good.”
She was especially candid about the zombie-filled second episode, The Other. “I definitely told the producers in our pre-meeting that I’m scared of zombies. So when they showed up, I was like, ‘How could you?’” she laughed. “That’s why it’s the most memorable episode for me.”
"Agents of Mystery 2" premieres on Netflix on the 27th.
