'The King's Warden' Draws 2.48 Million Over March 1 Holiday, 10 Million Milestone in Sight

The film "The King's Warden" drew 2,479,973 moviegoers over the March 1 holiday weekend, kicking off the countdown to 10 million admissions.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office data on the 3rd, "The King's Warden" attracted 2,479,973 viewers nationwide from February 27 to March 2. Its cumulative total stands at 9,213,408. On March 1 alone, it brought in 817,205 viewers, marking its first single day above 800,000 since release.

After pulling 2.66 million over the five-day Lunar New Year holiday, "The King's Warden" kept momentum through its second holiday period since opening, adding nearly 2.5 million more and pushing its cumulative tally past 9 million.

Reaching 9 million on Day 27, "The King's Warden" is widely expected to top 10 million admissions this week.

The most recent Korean film to surpass 10 million was "Exhuma" (11.91 million) in February 2024. Both "Exhuma" and "The King's Warden" were financed and distributed by Showbox.
