On the 4th, DARA posted a brief message on her social media: “I have never used drugs. I wish her well.”
A day earlier, Park Bom posted a handwritten letter on her social media, revisiting her past drug controversy and expressing frustration. In June 2014, it emerged that in October 2010 she had internationally shipped Adderall―an amphetamine-class psychostimulant―from the U.S. to Korea, sparking controversy. At the time, Park Bom’s side said the medication was for treatment and apologized for not properly declaring it to customs.
In the new letter, Park Bom wrote, “That’s not a drug. I have ADD―attention deficit disorder,” adding, “Back then, the country didn’t have Adderall or laws about it,” attempting to explain the situation again.
She then alleged, “DARA got caught for drugs, and to cover it up, they made Park Bom look like a druggie.” Park Bom also mentioned YG Entertainment, producer Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy, and CL, and warned, “Don’t report to the country that Park Bom used more than the proper dose when I haven’t touched drugs in 30 years.”
Despite the shocking claims, they were deemed baseless and instead raised concerns about Park Bom’s health. Recently, she made baffling posts on social media―such as claiming she married actor Lee Min-ho and saying she hadn’t received payments from YG Entertainment―undermining the credibility of her assertions.
Last October, Park Bom publicly shared a document about filing a complaint against YG Entertainment’s executive producer Yang Hyun-suk over payment issues. However, her side later stated that payments related to 2NE1 activities had already been paid and that there was no record of a complaint being filed. They also said, “Park Bom is currently very emotionally unstable and urgently needs treatment and rest.”
About three hours after posting the handwritten note targeting DARA, Park Bom deleted it. DARA’s side then called the drug-use rumor “groundless,” and DARA herself posted her own clarification, dismissing the allegation.
