Kep1er member Seo Young-eun is leaving the group.
WAKEONE and Klap Entertainment said on March 6, “Kep1er will continue activities as a six-member group with Choi Yu-jin, XIAOTING, Kim Chae-hyun, Kim Da-yeon, HIKARU, and Huening Bahiyyih,” adding, “Seo Young-eun, who has been with the team since their 2022 debut, has wrapped up her activities with the group.”
Seo Young-eun paused activities last July due to health issues and has been on a break. At the time, the agency announced a temporary suspension based on medical advice that she needed sufficient rest and stability.
The agencies added, “We have had in-depth discussions with Seo Young-eun for a long time about her future. After careful consideration, we reached this decision. The members respect Seo Young-eun’s wishes and are sending their full support,” continuing, “Kep1er will open a new chapter as six. We will do our best to repay fans with better music and performances.”
Kep1er is a multinational girl group formed through Mnet’s audition program "Girls Planet 999" and debuted on January 3, 2022. The group originally debuted with nine members. After MASHIRO and YESEO left in 2024, Kep1er had been promoting as seven.
