'Phantom Lawyer' Yoo Yeon-seok's 'Ghost Client' Heo Sung-tae Wrecks His First Day & Blows Up His Routine
Phantom LawyerYoo Yeon-seok’s life turns upside down on day one at work in "Phantom Lawyer" when a “ghost client” played by Heo Sung-tae shows up.

SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama "Phantom Lawyer" (written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Cheol-kyu, directed by Shin Joong-hoon) follows “possessed lawyer” Shin I-rang (Yoo Yeon-seok) who helps restless spirits find closure, and “cold-blooded elite lawyer” Han Na-hyun (Esom) who will do anything to win. It blends the punch of a legal drama with a fantasy world, positioning itself as SBS’s next refreshingly cathartic courtroom series.

The story kicks off with the March 13 premiere, as Shin I-rang fails to land a job at a major law firm and instead opens his own office in Room 501 of Okcheon Building. That choice cracks open a door to an unexpected realm. The space used to be a shaman’s house―and once he takes his first step as a lawyer there, he starts seeing the dead. Then his very first ghost client walks in.

That client is Lee Kang-pung (Heo Sung-tae). We don’t yet know what he wants from Shin I-rang, but one thing’s clear: he does not let go. After first meeting at the office, he even tracks I-rang down at his mom Park Kyung-hwa’s (Kim Mi-kyung) butcher restaurant to talk. When I-rang flees to a church to pray this away, Lee Kang-pung follows him there too. With the “ghost client” shadowing him everywhere, I-rang finally agrees to take the case.

Stills released on the 10th show Shin I-rang diving into prep for the case, determined to uncover the truth. He even goes undercover as he kicks off his first “closure defense.” But when the trial begins, Lee Kang-pung appears again, threatening to throw everything into chaos. He might even possess I-rang in court. The eerie first case teases a wild, spirit-charged ride and a deeply satisfying payoff―while raising big questions about the truth behind it all.

The production team shared, “The Lee Kang-pung case is the first story that opens the world of "Phantom Lawyer". It’s the starting point that explains why Shin I-rang takes on cases for the dead and how he solves them.” They added, “Yoo Yeon-seok and Heo Sung-tae’s unpredictable chemistry and the breezy, fast-paced plot will deliver guaranteed fun from episode one. With three days left until the premiere, we ask for lots of interest and anticipation.”

"Phantom Lawyer" premieres Friday, March 13 at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
