"We've Never Seen a Chaebol Heir like This" 'Undercover Miss Hong's Cho Han-gyul Nails Albert Oh's Feel-Good Arc
Jo Han-gyeolActor Cho Han-gyul shared his thoughts after wrapping the drama "Undercover Miss Hong".

Cho played Albert Oh in the tvN series "Undercover Miss Hong", which ended on the 8th. Albert is the maternal grandson of the Hanmin Securities chairman and the only son of Executive Director Oh Deok-gyu―a free-spirited “orange tribe” cinephile. Cho’s energetic performance brought the character to life.

On the 10th, through his agency, Cho said, “I’m happy that a project I filmed joyfully with seniors, fellow actors, and staff wrapped up well. It’s bittersweet that the time we spent racing together every week is already over.”

He added, “I was happy throughout filming, and this project will remain a long-lasting, feel-good memory for me. Thank you sincerely to everyone who loved 'Undercover Miss Hong' and Albert Oh. I’ll be back with more great projects.”

In Episodes 15 and the finale, which aired on the 7th and 8th, Cho convincingly portrayed Albert’s shift from “third-generation chaebol” to telling his own story. Even standing before a tense shareholders’ meeting, Albert kept things light with witty lines like, “Go straight through? Or find a backdoor?” keeping the mood buoyant while staying cool under pressure―the essence of Albert Oh’s charm.

Amid power struggles and stake battles, Albert ultimately chose his dream as a cinephile, closing out his journey as a personal coming-of-age. He also resolved his conflict with his father, offered a quiet tribute to his late uncle, and tied up his unrequited crush on Hong Jang-mi. Without clinging to love, he respected both his own choice and hers, leaving a clean, lingering afterglow.

Cho layered the role with more than meets the eye―balancing a breezy exterior with grounded responsibility and loyalty. As he expanded Albert from a stock chaebol heir into someone sincere, his performance stayed steady and natural. From the fresh charm of a younger man with a crush to understated emotion and easy, unforced delivery, Cho completed a three-dimensional Albert Oh.

Meanwhile, Cho Han-gyul has been on a roll with back-to-back projects, including "The Winning Try," "My Youth," and "Undercover Miss Hong", leaving a distinct impression with a different look in each. Anticipation is high for what kind of character twist he’ll bring next.
