The hit film ‘The King's Warden’ is revising the much-criticized tiger CG (computer graphics) seen as a noticeable flaw in the movie.

A representative for "The King's Warden" said, “The CG studio expressed a desire to roll out an improved version in time for the IPTV release, and work is currently underway in-house. However, it’s undecided whether this will be reflected in the theatrical version.”

It’s unlikely the updated CG will make it into the current theatrical run. The revised cut is expected to be applied to versions released on IPTV and OTT platforms.

Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, the film follows a village head who voluntarily enters exile to revive his town and a young former king who was deposed and banished. A tiger appears twice in the movie as a symbolic show of royal authority for Lee Hong-wi, who was driven from the throne. But the CG’s low quality drew criticism from the early days of release.

While the CG revision requires extra time and budget, the team chose to present a more polished version in response to the film’s strong audience support.

"The King's Warden" surpassed 10 million admissions nationwide on the 6th, 31 days after release, and has drawn 11.7 million viewers as of the 10th.
