Actor So Ji-sub narrates the newly released trailer for the film "The Voice of Hind Rajab".
"The Voice of Hind Rajab" tells the story―through the real voice of a 6-year-old girl―of January 29, 2024, in Gaza, where she was trapped alone in a bombed car. Centered on the actual phone call she made to the Palestine Red Crescent Society while fleeing with her family, the film reconstructs those hours on screen.
Through his narration, So explains Hind’s situation: she was just eight minutes away from rescuers and pleading for help, yet the operation stretched past five hours, leaving her isolated and alone. He closes the trailer with, “I’m adding my voice so Hind’s voice won’t disappear,” underscoring the film’s message.
This aligns with director Kaouther Ben Hania’s intent: “I always think about what cinema can do for our times and the world we live in―how it can create change. "The Voice of Hind Rajab" is more than a film to remember a little girl. It can be a call to action and a hope to make a film that can change something.”

From its early stages, the project drew broad support within the film community, focusing beyond politics on the brutal realities of war. Producers include Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, and "Gravity" director Alfonso Cuaron. At a Geneva UN screening of "The Voice of Hind Rajab", Cuaron stated, “'The Voice of Hind Rajab' is not just a film. By carrying Hind’s voice, you uphold an undeniable right to truth. You refuse the role of the silent bystander and become an active agent of international justice, demanding full accountability as our shared humanity requires,” a message that drew wide attention.
So Ji-sub also backed the film’s domestic release in joint partnership with "Squid Game" production company Firstman Studio. By lending his voice to the trailer, he further amplifies interest―and signals a powerful emotional impact to come.
"The Voice of Hind Rajab" opens April 15.
