At a Netflix variety show press conference for Lee Seo-jin's "Ready or Not: Texas" held the morning of the 24th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, producer Na Young-seok said, “Every time we go to the U.S. with Lee Seo-jin, I think there’s no better guide. This time was no different―we had a great trip.”
Lee Seo-jin's "Ready or Not: Texas" is an unscripted, no-plan wanderer-style variety set in the U.S. Lee Seo-jin―who considers Texas his second home and is a full-on Texas superfan―leads Na Young-seok’s crew on a chaotic, laugh-filled journey.
Producer Kim Ye-seul, who also joined the trip, shared, “As a PD, it was my first time on a travel show where I wasn’t steering―just following. It was a new experience,” adding, “I saw so many sides of Lee Seo-jin. He’s tough on the outside but soft on the inside. I also realized how charming Texas really is.”
In Texas, Lee acts as the guide, taking colleagues to his must-visit spots and showing off his trademark dry, tsundere vibe. Na explained, “Lee Seo-jin is totally into Texas, so we do what he wants to do. If he picks about five places, we might insist on changing one―and he’ll grumble, ‘Why are we going there?’ But in the end, he still takes us. He’s tsundere, but warm.”
Kim echoed that sentiment: “He’ll say he doesn’t want to do something, but when he does, he’s incredibly thoughtful and detailed about it. He really cares about us. The gap between his outer and inner selves is huge―he’s someone you want by your side.”
Starting with the 2020 tvN series "Lee Seo-jin’s New York New York," Lee and Na’s U.S. travel project moved through YouTube and has now expanded on Netflix as Lee Seo-jin's "Ready or Not: Texas". “Without viewers’ support, this wouldn’t have been possible,” said Na, adding, “I think the biggest reason people love it is Lee Seo-jin’s unfiltered, natural charm. It’s not a fixed itinerary―we just go where he likes, eat what he likes, see what he likes―so viewers can relax and come along.”
Lee Seo-jin's "Ready or Not: Texas" premieres today at 5 p.m. on Netflix.
