Singer-actor Kim Dong-wan has issued a formal apology after posting a message in support of MC Ding Dong sparked controversy.
On March 24, Kim wrote on his social media, “I deeply apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable because of the recent issue. If my words and actions caused discomfort, that is entirely my responsibility.”
“I should have been more careful, and I’m sincerely reflecting,” he continued. “From now on, I will take greater responsibility for every word and action.”
That day, Kim also held a busking performance and thanked fans who showed up. “Thank you to everyone who came out despite the commotion,” he said. “It was a hastily put-together stage, so there were shortcomings, but it was joyful to be together under the warm sunset. Thank you for celebrating my 28th anniversary.” He added, “I’ll carry myself responsibly so I can stand on bigger and better stages.”
Previously, Kim shared a post supporting MC Ding Dong but deleted it after criticism grew. MC Ding Dong caused public outrage when, during a livestream, he grabbed a female broadcaster by the hair after she brought up his DUI from four years ago.
