
Lee Dong-hwi’s starring film ‘Method Acting’ has been sold to 80 countries worldwide and is set to meet global audiences.
‘Method Acting’ follows a “funny actor” who blew up through comedy but no longer wants to be boxed in. Determined to be recognized for authenticity, Lee’s character dives headfirst into a role―and things spiral from there.
Lee Dong-hwi, who has been active across films, dramas, and variety shows, takes on both producing and lead acting here―putting his name on the line, which caught the eye of overseas sales companies. The film is gearing up for theatrical releases in the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Mongolia, among others.
It will also roll out via VOD in dozens of countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania in sequence.

Vietnam and Indonesia distributor Runup Vietnam said, “We expect this role to be an important turning point in Lee Dong-hwi’s career. It will be a chance to see his many sides,” offering high praise for Lee’s immersive ‘method acting’ performance. They added, “The distinct premise and the lineup of strong, skilled actors will resonate deeply with audiences,” signaling high expectations.
Overseas sales company Hive Filmworks commented, “With tightly woven ensemble acting and a fresh concept, the film has the power to pull viewers in intuitively across language and culture. Balancing originality and broad appeal, it will feel new and striking to international audiences.”
‘Method Acting’ opened on the 18th and is now playing in theaters nationwide.
