Premiering April 22, SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama "Sold Out on You" (written by Jin Seung-hee, directed by Ahn Jong-yeon) is a romance about perfectionist farmer Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo-seop) and sellout-king shopping host Dam Ye-jin (Chae Won-bin), whose lives get tangled day and night.
Ahn Hyo-seop transforms into a stoic country farmer, while Chae Won-bin plays a fiery city woman. On April 1, the drama’s second teaser arrived. It shows how Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin comfort each other’s hurts and become each other’s strength.
First, Matthew Lee is seen racing to the ER, screaming like he’s lost everything. Even Dam Ye-jin, who seemed unfazed by the nonstop office gossip, finally cracks and cries as she opens up. They’ve both been pretending they’re fine and not taking care of themselves. After they meet, the healing slowly begins.
“Everyone will eventually see that your choice was the right one,” Matthew tells her―calm, but heartfelt. The moments they spend side by side warm even the viewer’s heart. Dam Ye-jin is grateful to meet someone who believes in the “me” she couldn’t believe in herself. Matthew Lee, in turn, starts to trust and lean on her. A tender spark begins to grow between them.
Most striking is the final scene: two people worn down by real life, finally exchanging a peaceful “Good night” with serene faces. It’s pure butterflies.
"Sold Out on You" raises anticipation with its “mutual salvation” arc, as Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin―each carrying unspoken scars―find comfort through one another. What past are they hiding? How will they face those painful memories together and overcome them? The main story has fans intrigued.
Ahn Hyo-seop and Chae Won-bin’s "Sold Out on You" premieres Wednesday, April 22 at 9 p.m. on SBS.
