Shin will appear as a guest on the April 6 episode of SBS’s "uh, but like, seriously!". During a recent taping, he walked on set wearing a badge reading “0000” like a prisoner number, and the four MCs greeted him with deep 90-degree bows.
Tak Jae-hoon looked back on the variety show Oppa Band, which was directed by Shin’s wife, PD Sun Hye-yoon, and dropped a bombshell: “I never saw Shin Dong-yup laugh even once on set. When we filmed out of town, he and his wife even slept in separate rooms.” Shin fired back, “If you want to meet TV staff, try the culture-and-education department,” cracking everyone up.
Lee Su-ji, who works with Shin on SNL, exposed his fully unfiltered side when he’s drunk. “The SNL crew was out drinking and we wanted to see him so badly that we called. He showed up already wasted, literally carried in like a paper doll by his manager,” she said, sending the studio into laughter. Tak Jae-hoon piled on: “At that point, does he have more skinship with his manager than his wife?”
Shin also shared a surprising story about seeing a secretive side of KAI. “I was vacationing in Guam and saw KAI rubbing oil on a man’s back. The vibe felt… interesting, so I tried to pretend I didn’t see, but he came over to say hello, which totally flustered me,” he confessed, making everyone burst out laughing. KAI added, “I went to greet him because I was happy to see him, and he looked so startled. Now I finally know why,” topping the moment with even bigger laughs.
