On the 6th, CP Entertainment announced the deal with Kangnam. The company handles both content production and artist management. Its roster includes Shin Dong-yup, Lee Su-ji, Ji Ye-eun, and Kim Kyu-won. Its notable productions include SNL Korea and Office Workers on Coupang Play.
Kangnam debuted in 2008 as the lead vocalist of Japanese rock band KCB, then launched activities in Korea with a solo single in 2011. He was active as a member of the group M.I.B through 2016 and quickly rose as a variety standout thanks to his unfiltered wit and down-to-earth charm. On his YouTube channel "Kangnami," which has 1.44 million subscribers, he shares daily life with his wife, former national athlete Lee Sang-hwa, plus cover songs and more.
“I’m thrilled and a little nervous to team up with CP Entertainment,” Kangnam said. “I’m especially excited to join a company full of variety veterans across different fields. Please look forward to the new sides of me and the challenges ahead.”
“Kangnam is a rare talent with unmatched variety instincts and real artistic depth,” CP Entertainment stated. “He’s already loved across multiple areas, and we’ll fully support him so he can amplify his unique presence even further.”
