On the April 6 episode of SBS’ "uh, but like, seriously!," Shin made his first appearance on a broadcast network talk show in 15 years, drawing attention.
During the show, Shin recalled running into KAI by chance in Guam.
“I was on a family trip to Guam. My wife speaks some Japanese. She overheard two Japanese women talking and realized KAI was there,” he said.
“After she told me, I looked and it really was KAI. There were two guys, and he was rubbing oil on the other guy’s back, and the other guy was rubbing oil on KAI’s back. So I told my family, ‘Let’s pretend we don’t know him,’” he added, admitting he had misunderstood the situation at the time.
Shin joked, “We’re born to love half of humanity, right? But KAI must love all of humanity. I thought, ‘What a humanitarian.’”
KAI asked if the misunderstanding was still a thing. “I remember deciding to go say hello to Dong-yup hyung, but he seemed so awkward when he saw me. I remember him saying he thought we were a couple,” KAI said, getting laughs.
Shin continued, “He explained it wasn’t like that after hearing what I said. Then he dashed off to the beach―running exactly like this,” he joked, cracking everyone up.
