'Whenever Possible' Yoo Yeon-seok Aims to Redeem Himself―Kicks Off Shoes to Chase 'Soccer King' Title
Whenever PossibleOn "Whenever Possible", Yoo Yeon-seok―who’s been shaky anytime a ball shows up―sets out to restore his pride.

In the April 7 episode of the SBS variety show "Whenever Possible", MC duo Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok team up with “Gap Friends” comedians Yang Se-hyung and Yang Se-chan for a laugh-filled day around Gajwa-dong.

During a recent shoot, Yoo Yeon-seok took an unexpected shot at becoming a “soccer king.” Until now, he’s racked up so many fumbles in ball-related missions that he was jokingly dubbed a member of “FC Gaebal” (a running gag for being terrible with ball games). When a kids’ soccer-team mission popped up―hit the cones with a soccer ball―the young mission owner shouted, “Power of Sejong University!” name-checking the school where Yoo was appointed as a professor, cracking everyone up. Riding that surprise cheer, Yoo fired back, “Sejong’s gonna show you,” and lit up with determination.

Then he literally kicked off his shoes and went all-in―barefoot. After a few practice shots, he nailed the cones and said, “Barefoot feels right,” brimming with confidence. Noticing the upgraded footwork, Yoo Jae-suk hyped him up: “Yeon-seok, this is your moment!”

Meanwhile, brothers Yang Se-hyung and Yang Se-chan waged a mini war for the “ace” spot. Yang Se-chan opened with flashy dribbling, so Yang Se-hyung quickly swung attention back with a streak of bull’s-eyes. Soon, Se-chan started shadowing Se-hyung’s every move and brushed off his advice with, “I can’t trust you.” They even bickered over ball angles, prompting Yoo Jae-suk to step in―“These brothers are fiercely competitive”―sending the kid mission owners into giggles.

Spending the day with his “favorite little brothers” had Yoo Jae-suk smiling. He bragged to Yang Se-hyung and Yang Se-chan about his chemistry with new “favorite” Yoo Yeon-seok, then joked, “Aren’t Yoo Yeon-seok, Lee Kwang-soo, and Lee Dong-wook in the same agency? I practically raised them in variety. At this point, the agency CEO should be thanking me.”

From Yoo Yeon-seok gunning for “Barefoot Soccer King” to the Yang brothers battling for “soccer ace,” the nonstop antics of Yoo Jae-suk’s “favorite little brothers” play out on "Whenever Possible", airing Tuesday the 7th at 9 p.m.
