G-DRAGON, who dropped a full-length album last year, hit a world tour, and fronted multiple fashion ambassador gigs, is estimated to have received around 60 billion won in payments from his agency.
According to Money Today Broadcasting on the 8th, G-DRAGON is believed to have been paid over 60 billion won last year.
Citing Galaxy Corporation’s audit report disclosed on the 6th, the outlet reported that the company’s standalone “commissions paid” were about 71.4 billion won, a roughly 31-fold jump year over year. In the entertainment industry, this line item largely reflects artist payments. Even after excluding portions for legal, PR, and other costs, analysts estimate G-DRAGON’s take would land at least in the mid-65 billion won range.
Galaxy Corporation’s performance surged over the same period. Consolidated revenue hit approximately 298.9 billion won, up 618% from the previous year, and operating profit reached 12.5 billion won, swinging to the black. Industry watchers point to revenue from G-DRAGON’s world tour and album activities as key drivers, with global touring―especially ticket sales―highlighted as a major factor.
Last year, G-DRAGON resumed activities with his third solo studio album, “Übermensch,” and mounted a world tour across 39 shows in 17 cities, drawing about 825,000 attendees. Add in global fashion ambassador work and overseas festival stages, and he kept a full-court press across music, touring, and fashion.
His momentum is expected to continue this year. With a stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the U.S. and reports of various projects―including future BIGBANG activities and a comeback―his global impact is anticipated to grow even further.
