BTS member JUNGKOOK addressed the recent controversy over his swearing during a livestream, telling fans he’s sorry if it made them uncomfortable―while adding that he doesn’t believe he did anything wrong.

On April 8, JUNGKOOK went live on Weverse and spoke directly about what happened. “I started the live while feeling nervous and excited before a show,” he said. “I’d been pushing myself on a diet, got hungry, and was eating ramen. My body was tense, but I was in a giddy mood.”

He continued, “I don’t think I did anything seriously wrong on that live, but I want to say sorry to ARMY who might have felt uncomfortable. I was in a good mood that day, and since it was the first time I showed that side of me, I understand it could’ve felt uneasy. I’ll hold back more in the future.”

The controversy stems from a February 26 livestream where JUNGKOOK used profanity and made a few impulsive remarks. Some fans criticized the rough language used while chatting with viewers, while others defended him, leading to mixed reactions online.

Speaking about that stream, JUNGKOOK said, “I don’t think I was wrong. It was the kind of talk you have with friends, and it wasn’t directed at ARMY. But I accept that I showed that side of me in front of a camera.” He added, “I don’t have anything in particular to say to people who criticize me no matter what, but thank you for the attention. If I get sued, it is what it is. I hope people understand what ARMY means to me, and how sincerely I treat ARMY.”

JUNGKOOK also admitted, “I’m human, so sometimes that side of me might come out. If there are things that make you uncomfortable, point them out and I’ll take it in.” Still, he shared, “It’s complicated to be judged by a single action, even if I know that’s how it goes.”

BTS will hold “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN GOYANG” from April 9 to 12 at the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province.

JUNGKOOK also gave an update on concert prep during the live. “I’ve been fasting for nearly 36 hours to keep my body in the best condition before the show,” he said. “I want to put on a great performance at the concert.”
