On April 9, his agency King Kong by Starship unveiled new on-set stills of Yoo Yeon-seok, who is currently starring in SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama "Phantom Lawyer" (written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Cheol-gyu; directed by Shin Jung-hoon) as Shin I-rang, a “possessed” attorney who helps release the grudges of the dead.
In the photos, Yoo Yeon-seok wears a women’s hanbok and holds a floral parasol, exuding calm elegance. He checks his look in a mirror, then focuses intently on the monitor. His bright smile hints at the warm, friendly energy on set.
The stills capture a scene where Shin I-rang is possessed by Han Na-hyeon’s older sister (played by Hwang Bo-reum-byeol), leading him to go out in hanbok with Na-hyeon (Esom). To naturally reflect the traits of each person he channels, Yoo Yeon-seok monitored every take closely, pulling off the unique challenge of embodying a female character and heightening immersion in the story.
Throughout "Phantom Lawyer", Yoo Yeon-seok has been transforming through multiple possessions. In Episode 8, he became Na-hyeon’s late sister, showing both firm resolve against injustice and a tender way of speaking, paired with an innocent expression―delivering a bittersweet, moving ending.
Fueled by the newly released stills, anticipation is rising for what comes next. Episode 9 of "Phantom Lawyer" airs on April 10 at 9:50 p.m.
