Singer Kim Sang-hyuk responded after his ex-wife, Song Da-ye, publicly asked him to stop mentioning her.

Recently, Song posted on her personal account, “My ex-husband is a celebrity. Every time he appears on a show, the divorce gets brought up and unwanted articles keep coming out,” sharing her frustration. She added, “Even if he didn’t bring it up himself, if the other person is uncomfortable, can’t he request an edit?”―a clear public warning.

“I held back at first, but as this kept happening, I couldn’t take it anymore,” she wrote. “I’ve already asked multiple times for there to be no talk about the divorce or about me on broadcasts.”

The latest flare-up started with a newly released video. Kim guested on broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu’s YouTube channel. During the shoot, Jang mentioned, “My wife and I once had a meal with Kim Sang-hyuk’s ex-wife,” which pulled the divorce topic back into the spotlight. On-screen text even read “Divorce, Scam Behind-the-Scenes,” fueling the controversy.

When a commenter on Kim’s social media said, “There are already articles saying Jang Sung-kyu had dinner with your ex. Even if you didn’t bring it up, shouldn’t you step in and ask for that part to be edited out?” Kim shot back, “You think I didn’t?” He added, “It hasn’t even aired yet,” hinting that the segment would be cut from the main broadcast.

Kim continued, “With such shows, you film comfortably first and edit later. Especially with small, casual shoots like that on YouTube.” He emphasized that a relaxed conversation from the recording had been partially shown.

Kim married Song Da-ye, a shopping mall CEO six years his junior, in 2019. They separated about a year later.
