'Salmokji : Whispering Water' Tops Box Office for 8 Straight Days ― Will It Pass 1 Million Today?

The horror film ‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ has ruled the box office for eight days straight and is on the verge of crossing 1 million admissions.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office database on the 16th, ‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ drew 68,749 moviegoers nationwide on the 15th. Its cumulative admissions stand at 931,078.

Released on the 8th, ‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ opened at No. 1 over its first weekend and is holding the top spot into week two. Even on weekdays in its second week, it’s pulling in over 60,000 daily viewers. At this pace, it could top 1 million as early as today (the 16th).

‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ follows a crew that spots a mysterious figure on a road-view image. They head to a reservoir for a reshoot and come face-to-face with something lurking in the black, bottomless water. The film is directed by Lee Sang-min, and stars Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, Kim Jun-han, Yoon Jae-chan, and Jang Da-a.
