On the April 16 episode of SBS’ "Finding Genius: Infinity" (hereafter “Finding Genius”), art prodigy Jung In-jun met fellow prodigy Jeon Yi-soo.
Jung In-jun, who is on the autism spectrum, appeared on the show. He sometimes uses vocal stimming―shouting instead of words―and feels intense anxiety from even small stresses, which was heartbreaking to see.
With steady love and support from his family, In-jun has been growing. He can now express his feelings in words. His father said, “Even this feels like a miracle.”
After his first solo exhibition, In-jun felt real achievement by showing his art to others. His confidence began to bloom.
In this episode, In-jun met Jeon Yi-soo and visited the Jeon Yi-soo Gallery. Smiling, he took in Jeon’s paintings.
Jeon showed him a piece titled “Hug” and explained, “I always hug when I say hello. When you hug someone you meet, you can fully feel who they are. That’s why I like hugging.”
Jeon then took In-jun to the forests of Jeju where he played as a child, and they ran together.
“I think I wanted to show him the world as I see it,” Jeon said. “There are so many amazing things, and everything in this world is beautiful.” His sincerity moved viewers.
In-jun said painting is when he’s happiest. He shared his next goal: to exhibit his work in a large gallery space.
As the show wrapped, the MCs hoped the program would return and wished for a regular timeslot. The broadcast also teased that it will continue “until the day all children bloom,” building anticipation for the next season.
