On the April 21 episode of SBS’ “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny,” Yuk, celebrating his 10th wedding anniversary, appeared with his wife as a new couple on the show.
When producers asked the now-on-foot Yuk what happened to his scooter “Lightning,” he said, “My wife shut it down.”
“For me, the scooter was happiness. Every ride made my day,” he continued. “But after our child was born, my wife told me to quit. I didn’t want to, but one line from her made me stop.”
“If something happened to you, would you make the kid take care of everything?” she asked him, according to Yuk. “Hearing that, I pictured it and just felt so sorry. So I let it go. Still, on days with weather this good, I really want to ride,” he explained of why he sold the scooter.
He added, “To be honest, I secretly bought one and rode it for a while. But someone tipped off my wife. One time I covered my entire face and rode past them―and still ran into my wife and child. Even with my face hidden, my daughter, who was three at the time, said, ‘Dad?’ and recognized me,” sharing a hair-raising but funny moment.
