Rapper Swings drew attention by saying he “should’ve kept quiet, especially when things were going well.”
The remark landed as tension in the hip-hop scene has been rising, with some younger rappers―including Big Naughty―dropping diss tracks aimed at Swings.
On April 18, Swings' YouTube channel released a podcast episode featuring popular creators Jin Yong-jin and Kwon Ki-dong. The show follows Swings as he restarts his YouTube journey, inviting creators to share their experiences.
Swings asked Jin Yong-jin if he had ever overreacted after a big win. Looking back on the success of his web variety show "Money Game," Jin said, “People said it was obvious, even cringe. Some thought I was just riding the wave after 'Toy Soldiers.' But when the response blew up, I felt, ‘I was right about this.’”

He added, “I spent on personal things like a Lamborghini, and I dated an actress.” He admitted, “The energy I poured into meeting her went overboard. I put aside my own work and focused on that, thinking, ‘When else would I meet an actress like this?’ Looking back, it was too much.”
Answering the same question, Swings said, “When people start recognizing me, I act out. I think, ‘What do you know? I’m a genius.’ Then the backlash hits―hate pours in, payback comes, and fans who liked me turn away. I kept repeating that. Constantly.” He laughed as he owned up to it.
Swings continued, “I finally get it now. Don’t get too hyped when it’s going well, and don’t fall apart when it’s not. Live in the middle. Just because you’re up now doesn’t mean you’ll be up forever. Maybe you will, maybe you won’t.” He added, “Stay quiet when things are good. The down days will come, so don’t get too low or too high. I’m trying not to be easily shaken.”
