'KPop Demon Hunters' Director Maggie Kang Signs with Ahn Hyo-seop's Agency, Sets Sights on Korea

Director Maggie Kang, who helmed the Netflix animated film "KPop Demon Hunters," has signed an exclusive contract with the same agency as actor Ahn Hyo-seop.

The Present Co. announced the signing of Maggie Kang, stating, "We plan to develop various projects based in Korea together with Director Maggie Kang. We look forward to the synergy created by working with a director who possesses both creativity and a global sensibility."

Born in Korea and raised in Canada, Director Maggie Kang began her career as a story artist. She achieved worldwide success with the 2025 release of "KPop Demon Hunters." The film became the most-watched movie on Netflix, recording over 500 million cumulative streams.

Furthermore, she has emerged as a world-class director, recording numerous achievements on the international stage, including winning two awards at the 98th Academy Awards and the Best Animated Feature Film award at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.

"KPop Demon Hunters" is a work that presented a new trend in the global content market through its unique storytelling that combines K-Pop with a Korean worldview. In recognition of these contributions, Director Maggie Kang was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit (Ok-gwan) by the Republic of Korea.

The Present Co. is a management agency representing actors Ahn Hyo-seop, Shin Se-kyung, Kim Seol-hyun, and Park So-dam, and is expanding its influence both domestically and internationally based on a systematic management structure. Notably, Ahn Hyo-seop previously formed a connection with Director Maggie Kang by participating in "KPop Demon Hunters" as a voice actor.

Director Maggie Kang plans to expand her activities with Korea as her base while working with The Present Co., while simultaneously continuing her overseas activities in partnership with the global agency UTA.
