YG Entertainment Officially Announces New 5-Member Boy Group Debuting in September
YG EntertainmentYG Entertainment is set to unveil a new boy group for the first time in six years.

On April 30, YG released a video on its official blog featuring Executive Producer Yang Hyun-suk, who introduced the company's major projects for the second half of the year. In the video, Yang stated, "In a previous interview, I mentioned through subtitles that we were planning to launch a new YG boy group this fall. As of now, we are planning to introduce this new group in September. The number of members, which many of you are curious about, is five."

This marks the first new boy group from YG since the debut of TREASURE in 2020. By highlighting that the group will consist of a "select" five-member lineup, as opposed to the larger group structure of TREASURE, the agency is signaling the birth of a "complete group" that maximizes the individual capabilities and unique charms of each member.

Yang also added, "We will sequentially reveal the new IPs and rookie artists that YG is currently planning." This statement has raised expectations for a powerful new lineup, including the previously mentioned upcoming girl group, tentatively titled 'Next Monster'.

This year, YG has already announced major projects, including new album releases and active global promotions for BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, as well as a world tour for BIGBANG's 20th anniversary. Consequently, 2026 is expected to be a pivotal year for the agency, featuring both the continued success of existing artists and the emergence of new groups that will lead the future of YG.
