
PSY, the artist behind the global mega-hit "Gangnam Style" 14 years ago, will appear in a new CNN International documentary series highlighting the rise of K-Pop.
CNN International is set to premiere its new four-part documentary series, "K-Everything," on May 9. The program explores the roots and global influence of Korean culture, which is currently shaping trends worldwide, and is hosted by actor and producer Daniel Dae Kim.
PSY will appear as an interviewee for the K-Pop segment, where he will engage in a conversation with Daniel Dae Kim to share his insights on the global popularity of K-Pop and the phenomenon of "superfans."
In a teaser released ahead of the broadcast, Daniel Dae Kim asks PSY, "How long did you enjoy the success of 'Gangnam Style'?" PSY candidly responds, "As a singer, it lasts forever, but as a songwriter, it is a mix of a dream and a nightmare. It makes me wonder, 'How can I ever create something better than this song?'"
Released in 2012, "Gangnam Style" created a worldwide syndrome and is widely considered a major turning point in the global expansion of K-Pop.
"K-Everything" premieres on May 9 at 9:00 PM on CNN International. The series will be available for live streaming via CNN.com, CNN connected TV, and mobile apps, and can be viewed in Korea through Coupang Play.
