Actor Byeon Wooseok will be the only Korean actor to take the stage at the Hong Kong Comic Con.
Byeon Wooseok is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Comic Con on May 29, followed by a special talk session titled "HKCC Special: 2026 Asia Spotlight" at 8:00 PM on the same day.
As this is the inaugural year for the Hong Kong Comic Con, organizers have put significant effort into their guest lineup. Byeon Wooseok has been invited as a representative actor of Korea and Asia to kick off the event.
As the session title suggests, the event will highlight leading stars from across Asia. Byeon Wooseok rose to stardom with the 2024 drama "Lovely Runner". His performance in the series earned him global love and solidified his position as a representative Asian star. He recently led the popularity of his comeback project after two years, "Perfect Crown", with a more mature acting performance.
With the Hong Kong Comic Con hosting its first-ever event, a large number of global stars have been invited. In addition to Korean youth star Byeon Wooseok, the confirmed lineup includes Hollywood actor Mads Mikkelsen, top Hong Kong star Louis Koo, Danish-American actor Giancarlo Esposito—known for "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul"—and Hong Kong-British actress Katie Leung, who appeared in "Bridgerton" season 4.
Originating in the United States, Comic Con has grown into the world's largest event covering 21st-century pop culture, where companies specializing in comics, games, and film content set up large booths to showcase their work to the public. While it began with a non-profit nature, it has since evolved into an international festival and event attended by creators, producers, industry insiders, major media outlets, and film studios.
The Hong Kong Comic Con will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 29 to 31.
