The Director’s Cut Awards is a ceremony where regular and associate members of the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) directly vote to select nominees and winners. The Director Award is considered the grand prize of this ceremony.
Having previously won the Best Director award in the film category at the Baeksang Arts Awards, Park Chan-wook added another trophy to his collection. As he is currently serving as a jury president at the Cannes Film Festival, he was unable to attend the ceremony.
