
According to a report by Channel A on May 21, a man in his 40s was arrested on charges of robbery causing injury after trespassing into Kim Gyu-ri's home in Bukchon Hanok Village, Jongno-gu, Seoul, at around 9 p.m. on May 20 in an attempt to steal money.
At the time of the incident, another woman living with Kim Gyu-ri witnessed the robbery attempt and resisted, prompting the man to flee the scene. The cohabitant sustained injuries during the struggle, and the emergency call to 112 reportedly included a statement saying, "The robber tried to tie me up."
After fleeing to evade police pursuit immediately following the crime, the man turned himself in to the police in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, approximately three hours after the incident.
The Seoul Jongno Police Station, which is handling the case, is currently investigating the suspect to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and whether it was a premeditated crime. They are also considering applying for an arrest warrant.
Meanwhile, Kim Gyu-ri previously drew attention in 2022 when she appeared on a variety show and revealed her traditional hanok home in Bukchon.
