Actress Jun Ji-hyun opened up about feeling a bit unfairly judged regarding her flawless, unwavering beauty in the film 'COLONY'.
On the afternoon of May 26, Jun Ji-hyun sat down for an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, to celebrate the release of 'COLONY'. Addressing viewers' comments that her consistently radiant appearance in the film felt out of place given the circumstances, she began by saying, "I feel a bit unfairly judged."
Jun Ji-hyun reacted, "I stayed true to the situation and didn't do anything. But some people seemed to view me as excessively beautiful. They asked how I could look like that while wearing just jeans and a white T-shirt. I literally only wore a white tee and jeans, so why... I really didn't do anything." She then jokingly added, "But I'm just grateful that they see me that way."

In the film, Jun Ji-hyun plays Kwon Se-jung, a biotechnology professor. When an outbreak occurs inside a building and zombies run rampant, people are thrown into utter chaos. Amidst the bedlam, Kwon Se-jung leads the group of survivors while maintaining her stunning looks throughout. Her comments serve as a response to viewers who pointed out this aspect as unrealistic after the film's release.
Seemingly aware of the audience's reaction, Jun Ji-hyun emphasized, "It's quite fascinating that 'COLONY' is getting these kinds of comments in particular. I don't feel pressured by them. In fact, the more comments like that, the better. Isn't it better than being called ugly? However, I want to make it clear that no one made any conscious effort or intention to look pretty in this film, at least not to the extent people might think."

Even in her 40s, Jun Ji-hyun maintains her exceptional beauty and physique through rigorous self-care. Pointing to exercise as her secret, she shared her philosophy: "I do work out every day. I don't think your physical stamina necessarily has to decline just because you get older. I've never actually measured my biological age. However, I believe the body improves if you put in the effort. Time passes and aging is inevitable, but I believe that with effort, we can make that time arrive a little slower."
Jun Ji-hyun, who made her return to the big screen after 11 years with the film 'COLONY', is enjoying the sweet taste of box office success. 'COLONY' tells the story of survivors isolated inside a sealed building due to a mysterious outbreak, fighting against infected beings that evolve in unpredictable ways. The film surpassed 2 million viewers nationwide just five days after its release.
