
The movie 'COLONY' has maintained its No. 1 spot at the box office for six consecutive days.
According to the integrated computer network for theater tickets of the Korean Film Council on May 27, 'COLONY' drew 150,489 viewers nationwide on May 26. The cumulative audience count has reached 2,169,099.
Released on May 21, 'COLONY' got off to a strong start by attracting 200,000 viewers on its opening day. It continued its No. 1 streak through its first weekend and the substitute holiday for Buddha's Birthday, surpassing 2 million viewers. Although May 26 was a weekday in its second week of release, the film maintained its momentum by drawing over 150,000 daily viewers. It is expected to surpass its break-even point (approximately 3 million viewers) within this week.
'COLONY' is a film about isolated survivors inside a building locked down due to a mysterious infection outbreak, fighting against infected hosts who evolve in unpredictable ways. Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, the mastermind behind 'Train to Busan' and 'Peninsula,' the film stars Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyohwan, Ji Changwook, Shin Hyun-been, and Kim Shin-rok.
