With just two days left until its release, the film 'Wild Sing' is closely chasing down 'COLONY', the current No. 1 movie at the box office.

According to the Korean Film Council's (KOFIC) integrated computer network for theater tickets on June 1, 'Wild Sing' recorded a 24.5% reservation rate with 73,000 pre-sold tickets, ranking second in both categories behind 'COLONY' (30.4%, 90,000 tickets).

While 'COLONY' continues its box office run, surpassing 3 million viewers nationwide just 10 days after its release, the upcoming film 'Wild Sing' is showing formidable momentum. Although it trailed behind 'COLONY' by nearly double until last week, it has closed the gap significantly in its release week, breathing down the leader's neck in both reservation rates and pre-sales.
Wild Sing
'Wild Sing' is a comedy film about 'Triangle,' a co-ed trio dance group that once dominated the music industry but disbanded overnight due to an unexpected incident. Twenty years later, they embark on a reckless challenge to seize a rare chance at a comeback. Gang Dongwon, Um Tae-goo, and Park Ji-hyun star as the three members of the former hit group, generating buzz with their impressive singing and dancing skills that rival real-life idols. Oh Jung-se, who plays the tragic ballad singer Choi Sung-gon, is also drawing attention for his performance.

Even before its official release, the film has achieved significant marketing success on social media and online communities by heavily promoting songs and music videos that exude a nostalgic Y2K vibe.
