On the June 9 broadcast of SBS's 'Sunim & Sonim', Lee Sang-yoon had an impromptu Q&A session with Venerable Pomnyun.
On this day, Lee Sang-yoon began by saying, "The entertainment industry, especially the film industry, including myself, has undergone massive changes over the past few years."
He added, "Largely due to COVID-19, and the subsequent shift to OTT platforms becoming mainstream, the film industry has struggled, and the number of drama productions has decreased. As a result, both actors and production teams have lost many opportunities."
Lee Sang-yoon then confessed to the ups and downs he has experienced over the past few years, after a time when playing leading roles was taken for granted. He shared, "Great actors don't even seem to feel this shift and are still working busily, but I couldn't join them. I felt like I had fallen behind in the competition."
He continued, "It feels like a completely new world to me. I've felt flustered, frustrated, upset, and anxious in this situation, which is so different from before. I think everyone is going through their own difficult times right now," and asked how he could feel less unhappy.
In response, Venerable Pomnyun drew attention by emphasizing that both sacredness and impurity exist within the mind, and that what matters most is an unwavering inner self.
