GOT7 member YOUNGJAE has officially raised issues regarding unpaid appearance fees for the musical 'Dream High Season 2'.
YOUNGJAE recently posted a lengthy message on his social media, stating, "I believe you mentioned that everything would be settled by June 9, yet it remains unresolved even today." He added, "By August, it will have been almost a year since it was left unresolved. I still haven't even properly received the appearance fees I am owed."
He continued, "Please stop saying that payments are being processed when only a fraction of the originally owed amount has been given in small installments. In my view, the amount provided is too minimal to even be considered a proper settlement."
He also added, "Have I unfairly demanded money? Are the time, effort, and all the processes I invested worth nothing? I wanted to resolve this amicably, but I don't believe our side is the one that made this situation unpleasant."
Kim Eun-ha, CEO of Art One Company, the production company behind the musical 'Dream High Season 2', issued an official apology regarding the unpaid appearance fees.
Through an official statement, CEO Kim stated, "During the production of 'Dream High Season 2', unexpected financial management difficulties arose, leading to a delay in appearance fee payments." She added, "We have now reached an amicable agreement with GOT7's YOUNGJAE's side to complete the remaining unpaid settlement procedures within June."
However, YOUNGJAE's agency, Andbut Company, immediately issued a rebuttal, drawing a line by stating, "We have never agreed to or finalized the end of June as the payment deadline for the unpaid appearance fees." They emphasized, "While the other party verbally mentioned that they would write and deliver a payment plan, they had already submitted a payment plan at the end of last year and failed to keep the promised schedule."
This controversy is an extension of the ongoing issue of unpaid appearance fees and service costs among the cast and staff of the musical 'Dream High Season 2', which was performed last year.
Previously, in December of last year, some actors and creative staff claimed they had not received their appearance fees despite the promised deadline having passed. In January of this year, reports emerged that actors, arrangers, and dancers had taken legal action against the production company.
YOUNGJAE, who played the role of Song Sam-dong in the musical 'Dream High Season 2', is currently fulfilling his alternative military service as a public service worker.
