YouTuber Sukyzin (real name Kang Su-jin), who was a cousin and closer than a real sister to Red Velvet's SEULGI, has passed away in a sudden accident, bringing deep sorrow to many.
On June 11, an obituary post believed to be written by a family member was uploaded to Sukyzin's YouTube channel. The writer, who introduced herself as "Su-jin's cousin living in the U.S.," stated, "It is with a heavy heart that I deliver this sudden, tragic news to the many people who have cherished and supported Su-jin." She added, "Our lovely Su-jin became a star in the sky on June 7 due to a sudden accident."
Sukyzin had been communicating with her subscribers through daily vlogs and lifestyle content. In particular, videos featuring her cousin, Red Velvet's SEULGI, garnered significant attention and love. The two were known to share a bond closer than typical cousins, almost like real sisters.
In a video with SEULGI posted on May 29, Sukyzin expressed her deep affection, saying, "I only share my deepest thoughts with you, unnie." SEULGI also showed her special bond by saying, "Su-jin is the person who knows my true self the best."
In particular, SEULGI touched viewers' hearts by telling Sukyzin, "I wanted to be a real older sister to you." Having lost her own older sister during her childhood, Sukyzin had SEULGI by her side for a long time, acting as a supportive older sister figure. As this tragic news comes just about two weeks after the video was released, fans are expressing even deeper sorrow.
