Female duo dodree has confirmed their comeback after approximately five months.
On June 10, dodree announced their return by releasing a trailer video titled "五方 : Motion of Summer" on JYP Entertainment's official YouTube channel.
The released video opens with a pavilion on a calm lake and the movement of a butterfly, creating a mysterious atmosphere. It then captures an elegant traditional aesthetic, showcasing various elements symbolizing Korean traditional culture, such as a hanok (traditional Korean house), folding screens, ceramics, colorful dancheong (traditional multicolored paintwork on wooden buildings), and norigae (traditional Korean ornaments).
In particular, while naturally weaving dodree's logo throughout the video, they also released three highlight clips featuring traditional Korean instrument sounds, raising curiosity about the new album.
This new release comes about five months after dodree's debut single, "Just Like a Dream." Ahead of the official release, they will meet fans early by pre-releasing a track from the album on June 17 at 6 PM KST.
dodree is a female duo consisting of Na Yeong-ju, a traditional Korean music major, and Lee Song-hyun, a traditional Korean dance major. They drew immediate attention upon their debut by pioneering their own unique genre, "K-rossover Pop," which blends traditional Korean arts with modern sounds.
Having showcased a musical world where Korean sentiment and modern sensibilities coexist through various performances, anticipation is high for the new colors they will display with this comeback.
Meanwhile, dodree's second digital single will be released on June 24 at 6 PM KST through various online music streaming sites.
