The film 'COLONY' has secured the number one spot at the weekend box office for four consecutive weeks.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions on the 15th, 'COLONY' drew 301,052 viewers nationwide from the 12th to the 14th, maintaining its position at the top of the weekend box office. The cumulative number of viewers reached 5,212,823. Since its release on May 21st, 'COLONY' has not given up the number one spot at the box office even once, surpassing 5 million viewers in just 24 days. With this, it has become the second film released this year to reach the 5 million mark, following 'The King's Warden'.

During this period, the onslaught of new releases such as 'Backrooms', 'Wild Sing', and 'Disclosure Day' was significant. However, 'COLONY' sparked audience anticipation as a long-awaited Korean blockbuster, and the effect of its invitation to the Cannes Film Festival led to explosive audience turnout from the early stages of its release.

Although a downward trend is evident as it enters its fourth week, the new releases lacked the momentum to surpass 'COLONY'. At this current pace, it is expected that 'COLONY' will be able to surpass 6 million viewers.
