In the upcoming episode of SBS's 'Sunim & Sonim' airing on Tuesday, June 16 at 9 PM, a special day unfolds as the cast returns to Kolkata, the starting point of their journey in India.
On this day, the guests headed to Kolkata following Venerable Pomnyun's suggestion to reflect on how their mindsets have changed since they first arrived in India. The youngest member, WOOCHAN, who recently joined the journey, could not hide his amazement at Kolkata's dynamic atmosphere, saying, "The energy here is completely different from Bodh Gaya. This is definitely India." In response, Lee Ki-taek skillfully explained local information, shedding his usual clumsy charm to show off his reliable side as an 'India senior,' bringing cheerful laughter to the group.
Next, the cast boarded a water taxi on the Hooghly River, a distributary of the Ganges River often referred to as the 'Mother River' by locals. The wide-open scenery from the river and the vivid daily lives of the locals washing clothes and bathing along the riverbanks captured the guests' attention. In particular, Venerable Pomnyun surprised everyone by sharing a shocking anecdote about how he once personally tasted the water of the Ganges River in the past.
A touching moment arrived unexpectedly. While traveling on the water taxi, the guests spotted Venerable Pomnyun in the distance among the crowd, holding a camera, smiling brightly, and waving at them. Seeing the monk's warm gesture of trying to capture their precious moments together on camera, Noh Hong-chul opened up about his emotional state, saying, "He looks like my dad when I was young." Venerable Pomnyun's sincerity, conveyed through the camera lens, highlighted their deepening bond and promised to leave a lasting impression on viewers.
Afterward, they visited India's largest flower market near the Hooghly River, where they showered each other with flowers and shared blessings amidst the beautiful, colorful scenery. During this, Noh Hong-chul made one of his signature quirky suggestions, and as the members joined in one by one, the scene quickly erupted into laughter. Their chemistry, which has grown even stronger near the end of the trip, is set to deliver delightful and heartwarming fun until the very end.
'Sunim & Sonim' will air on June 16 at 9 PM.
