Actress Kwon Eun-bin, a former member of the group CLC, has personally announced her retirement from the entertainment industry. She revealed her decision to wrap up her nearly 10-year career in entertainment and choose the life of an ordinary citizen.

On June 16, Kwon Eun-bin posted a lengthy message on her social media, stating, "I am sorry for causing concern to many people due to an unintentional article a while ago." She added, "I felt it was my duty to personally share my current status and decision with everyone who has supported me, which is why I am writing this."

Reflecting on her past decade of activities, Kwon Eun-bin expressed her gratitude to her fans. She shared, "During my nearly 10 years in the entertainment industry, the overwhelming love and support from fans made me happy at every moment, and I am sincerely grateful." However, she continued, "During my long career that began in my teens, as time passed, I naturally spent more time deeply contemplating my past, present, and future. After prolonged deliberation, I have decided to live a life as an ordinary person."

She also opened up about the reasons behind her decision to leave the industry. Kwon Eun-bin confessed, "Looking back on the past, I realized that most of my time was spent suffering from a sense of emptiness and anxiety about the present and future, rather than affection and love for my work."

She continued, "I spent regrettable periods avoiding and merely trying to resolve these negative emotions and times, without making efforts to overcome or grow from them." She also admitted, "For years, I wasted my precious time on meaningless periods that brought me no benefit, and on relationships that were nothing but hollow shells with no substance."

Expressing her anticipation for a new chapter, she said, "I felt deep regret for my foolish past and the time I spent. Now, I have decided to leave behind all those negative times and emotions and dedicate my time to pursuing a better and happier future."

Regarding her current life, she shared, "These days, I am spending time filled with new and happy emotions like never before." She added, "I apologize for not being able to respond individually to everyone who reached out with sincere encouragement and concern, but I will no longer accept any personal messages or questions in the future."

She left a final message for her fans, saying, "I plan to wrap up all my entertainment activities after completing the previously scheduled overseas group events for CLC. I sincerely thank you for the support you have shown me, and I wish everyone happiness."

Previously, Kwon Eun-bin terminated her exclusive contract with her agency, Cube Entertainment, last month. At the time, Cube Entertainment stated, "After lengthy discussions, we have decided to terminate her exclusive contract," and added that they support Kwon Eun-bin's new beginning.

Speculation later arose that she was preparing to retire rather than simply change agencies, after it was revealed that she had requested the deletion of her profile from an online document archive site. The request form, which was made public at the time, drew attention as it stated, "I have effectively halted my activities in the entertainment industry, and moving forward, I intend to return to a civilian life and live quietly."

Meanwhile, Kwon Eun-bin debuted as a member of CLC in 2016 and gained recognition through her appearance on Mnet's audition program "Produce 101". She later expanded her career into acting, consistently working as an actress in dramas such as "Bad Papa", "Youth of May", and "Dear.M".
