Singer and painter Solbi is returning with her new song "Holiday" to celebrate her 20th debut anniversary.
Solbi will release her digital single "Holiday" on various online music platforms on June 21 at noon. This new song marks her first solo release in about two years, following her 2024 solo track "Monday Disco." For her group Typhoon, it is her first new song in about a year since last year's release "P.D.P."
This release holds special meaning as a commemorative single celebrating Solbi's 20th anniversary since her debut. Since debuting with the group Typhoon in 2006, Solbi has built her own unique domain by balancing her careers as both a singer and a painter. Having carved out an unrivaled path through continuous musical activities and art exhibitions, she is set to reaffirm her presence in her main profession as a singer with this new track.
The new song "Holiday" is a rock 'n' roll-based track that modernizes pop elements. The rhythmic band sound, addictive melody, and Solbi's signature refreshing vocals come together to evoke a perfect summer vibe. Capturing the desire to escape the repetitive daily routine and dream of freedom, the song is set to deliver bright and positive energy.
Notably, performance director Koonzo participated in the overall production of the album. Koonzo maximized Solbi's musical capabilities and performance charm, creating a fresh synergy. As these two, who have built distinct identities in their respective fields, join forces for the first time, anticipation is high for this special collaboration.
Additionally, hit composer Park Hae-woon—who created DJ DOC's "Dance with DOC" and "Run To You," as well as COOL's "Beer and Peanut"—joined the project to elevate its quality. Solbi also participated in writing the lyrics, weaving in her own personal story.
The newly released concept images feature Solbi and Koonzo styled in vintage denim jackets and patterned scarves. Set against a red brick building, the free-spirited atmosphere and retro vibe further highlight the energy of the new song.
Working together for the first time through this project, Solbi and Koonzo plan to perform together at various upcoming shows and festivals. Fans are eager to see what kind of stages will result from this collaboration that bridges music and performance.
