Actress Hwang Jung-eum shared the story behind adopting two large dogs from an animal shelter.

On June 17, Hwang Jung-eum introduced her daily life with her two sons and her pet dogs through her YouTube channel. In the video, Hwang Jung-eum showed her affectionate side by bathing her dogs herself.

While grooming and bathing her dogs, she also shared an anecdote about their names. Hwang Jung-eum's dogs are named Ye-jun and Ye-bin, while her sons are named Wang-shik and Kang-shik.

She laughed and said, "Many people ask why I named them that way. There was a comment saying, 'Wang-shik and Kang-shik sound like dogs' names, while Ye-jun and Ye-bin sound like humans' names.' Hearing that, I think it might actually be true."

She also opened up about how she came to live with her dogs. Hwang Jung-eum explained, "On Kang-shik's birthday, the kids wanted a dog so much. I thought it would be good for their emotional well-being, so I visited an animal shelter and found two very beautiful dogs." She continued, "They told me that if they weren't adopted, they could face euthanasia. But since I saw them, I couldn't let them die. So I brought both of them home." She then expressed her affection for them, adding, "I brought them both together so they wouldn't feel lonely."

Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-eum, who is raising her two sons alone after divorcing her ex-husband, was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for four years, after being put on trial for embezzling funds from her family corporation to invest in cryptocurrency. Since then, Hwang Jung-eum launched her YouTube channel last month and stated, "I think it's natural for people to feel uncomfortable, and I accept that. I need to ask for forgiveness," expressing her intention to share her simple daily life.
