With only two episodes left until the finale, the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'My Royal Nemesis' (written by Kang Hyun-joo, directed by Han Tae-seop and Kim Hyun-woo) is a high-stakes romantic comedy. It follows Shin Seo-ri (played by Lim Ji-yeon), an unknown actress possessed by the soul of a notorious Joseon-era villainess, and Cha Se-gye (played by Heo Nam-jun), a ruthless tycoon often called a monster born of capitalism.
Fueled by the actors' perfect portrayal of their characters, Episode 12 achieved its highest ratings yet, reaching 11% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 10.5% nationwide (according to Nielsen Korea). It also ranked first in the 20-49 age demographic among all programs broadcast during the week, solidifying its position as an undisputed powerhouse.
In the previous broadcast, Seo-ri and Se-gye, who had finally started moving straight toward each other, faced a time-transcending separation crisis. Tension peaked as Seo-ri realized she is the 'real Shin Seo-ri' and awakened to her true self. In the upcoming Episodes 13 and 14, anticipation is soaring as Se-gye prepares a full-scale counterattack to thwart the plans of Choi Moon-do (played by Jang Seung-jo), who has seized control of Chail Group.
Lim Ji-yeon, who has carried the show's success with her stellar performance transitioning between comedy and drama, shared, "The biggest point to watch in the remaining two episodes is how Seo-ri and Se-gye's intertwined past-life connection will conclude, and whether they can achieve a happy ending." She added, "Please keep watching until the very end."
Heo Nam-jun, who proved his romantic-comedy prowess by charmingly portraying Cha Se-gye, also highlighted the emotional romance as the key point. "Se-gye and Seo-ri are racing toward the drama's climax," he said. "I hope viewers can emotionally immerse themselves in their increasingly poignant story."
Meanwhile, Jang Seung-jo, who drove the show's tension as a legendary villain, left a heavy message: "Since I am Moon-do... I hope you will watch with interest to see what kind of final period I will put on this story." His words sparked curiosity about the downfall or ultimate fate awaiting the villain Choi Moon-do.
How will the main characters' time-transcending romance unfold, and how will the thrilling counterattack surrounding Chail Group wrap up? 'My Royal Nemesis,' which promises a storm of events that will keep viewers glued to their screens until the very end, will air its final episodes, 13 and 14, on June 19 and 20 at 9:50 PM KST, respectively.
